
Anthony David Gonzalez (born February 27, 1976) was a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. The renowned player is considered to be one of most outstanding tight ends of all time, he is the NFL's all-time leader in receiving yards and receptions by a tight-end, and is ranked third overall in total receptions. Gonzalez was a part of the first 12 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, who were the first team to select him in the round of the 1997 NFL Draft. During his last five seasons the team was part of the Atlanta Falcons. Since his retirement in 2013 Gonzalez has been a football analyst for NFL on Prime Video and was previously with CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez was a career-high 14 Pro Bowl selections, the most for a tight end and second in the history of the league In addition, he was awarded six All-Pros from the first team. Gonzalez is known for his endurance and uncommon errors. He played in 272 games of the regular season, and only lost two fumbles on 1,327 touches. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019.
